Amrapali Companies property and bank accounts attached by SC

The Supreme Court of India has taken a strict step by attaching the property of the Amrapali Group including its 40 subsidiary companies and its promoters, directors for defrauding its homebuyers. This step has been by the SC as the Amrapali Group failed to comply with the Supreme Court’s order to complete its long-pending housing projects.

Children born out of Second Marriage- No Share in Joint-Property

The Bombay High Court has ruled that kids born out of second marriage do not have any share in the ancestral property while coming to the rescue of two daughters and their mother who were rendered homeless by their father. The court has stated that the daughters born out of the first marriage cannot be stripped of their right to ancestral property or the joint property.

First Case of Insolvency Proceedings before the National Company Law Tribunal by a Home Buyer

At Lotus Panache, a homebuyer couple has knocked the doors of National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) praying for insolvency proceedings against a group company of the builder (3C Company). This happens to be the first case in which a homebuyer has approached NCLT after the ordinance brought them on the same pedestal as the financial creditors (banks).
